Exploring Big Questions on Small scales
Eugene Demler, Professor of Physics, Harvard University,

Rapid progress in theoretical understanding and experimental control of systems of ultracold atoms makes it possible to use these systems to address fundamental problems of quantum many-body theory. In this talk I will review several recent examples, including successful demonstration of the Higgs excitation in a strongly correlated two dimensional superfluid, observation of the prethermolized state in the nearly integrable system, interferometric measurement of the topological order parameter.
