Parker Solar Probe: Exploring the Plasma Physics of the Solar Corona and Inner Heliosphere
Marco Velli, Professor, Earth, Planetary and Space Sciences, UCLA,

Come learn about the August 4th launch of the historic Parker Solar Probe, which will carry out the first in-situ exploration of our sun's dynamic corona and deep inner-Heliosphere.

Prof. Marco Velli is an Observatory Scientist for the Solar Probe project and an expert in the field of space plasma physics and solar magnetic activity. He will be lecturing on the current state of research on magnetized solar corona and wind, and how the Parker Probe will provide us the first exploration of space inside the orbit of Mercury. He will also discuss how synergies with the Solar Orbiter might lead to new understandings of the solar wind as it bursts from the corona out into interplanetary space.

Don't miss out on this behind-the-scenes exploration of the Parker Solar Probe and its mission to understand the role and dynamics of active magnetized plasmas throughout the universe.

Seating is limited and is available on a first come, first served basis.
