PLEASE NOTE: This lecture was presented at the newly-renovated Pasadena Convention Center. We are aware that the sound quality on the night of the lecture was not ideal, and that many guests had difficulty hearing Dr. Hawking's talk.

Dr. Hawking previously gave a preliminary version of this same talk on the occasion of NASA's 50th anniversary, and his daughter Lucy also spoke on that occasion. The transcript and a rare video of those talks are available on NASA's web site.

Professor Hawking has given the world breathtaking insights into the birth of the universe, the deaths of black holes, and the future of the human race. His worldwide bestseller A Brief History of Time is a landmark in science writing.

This talk by Professor Hawking is intended for a general audience, and is a unique opportunity to see him in person and be immersed in his mind's world.
