TecherTalk: Aerospace Alumni Panel
The Caltech Alumni Association, in partnership with the Aerospace Department (EAS Division), is hosting a TecherTalk for students to hear from Aerospace alumni who will share their experience, perspectives, and advice to successfully navigate "Life After Caltech."
All Caltech undergraduate and graduate students are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Panelists include:
Philippe Adam, Director at Johnson & Johnson (Caltech PhD Aeronautics 1997) - Philippe is currently a Director at Johnson & Johnson working on the commercial side of the surgical ophthalmology business. Previously, he has worked and consulted for a number of research labs and companies including Caltech/JPL, Honeywell, Houlihan Lokey, Avery Dennison, Beckman Coulter and Abbott Laboratories. Philippe also serves as a Board Advisor to Advanced TeleSensors (a Caltech/JPL sensor start-up) and EV Safe Charge (a start-up offering one-stop shop electric vehicle charging station installation services). He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Aeronautics from Caltech and also holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Jeff LeHew, Manager of Advanced Technology and Analytics at Meggitt Control Systems (Caltech PhD Aeronautics 2012), MODERATOR - Jeff LeHew is the Manager of Advanced Technology and Analytics for Meggitt Control Systems, a leading supplier of pneumatic, thermal management, and electro-mechanical equipment and sub systems. His work focuses on the development of analytical methods and tools for simulating system performance on a variety of fluid and thermal systems ranging from fluid control valves and heat exchangers to fire detection and fire suppression systems for commercial and military aircraft. Jeff joined Meggitt in 2012 as one of the first members of the Meggitt Graduate Program, a three year rotational program, shortly after completing his PhD in Aeronautics at Caltech. Through the Graduate Program he had the opportunity to work at four different Meggitt branches including Meggitt Defense Systems (Irvine, CA), Meggitt Safety Systems (Simi Valley, CA), Meggitt Polymers and Composites (Loughborough, UK), and Meggitt Control System (North Hollywood, CA). During those placements he focused on projects involving thermal management systems, fire suppression systems, anti-ice and de-ice control for aircraft, and aftermarket sales forecasting, respectively.
