Dear Graduate & Undergraduate Students,
Winter is coming! (Insert gif here; iykyk.) Wherever you'll be for winter break, your social landscape is probably going to change for a little while. Counseling Services warmly invites you to a fun, low-key space to start thinking ahead about meeting your social and emotional needs over the break.
- If you'll be with family, you might wonder how to deal with challenging family dynamics.
- If you'll be traveling, you might wonder how to stay in touch with your close friends and supports.
- Maybe you're staying on campus, and you're wondering if your friends will be around.
- Or maybe you've been dealing with loneliness or other difficult emotions, and your usual supports won't be available.
- Maybe you'll be out of California and are wondering how to access mental health support or crisis services.
We understand - winter break means different things to everyone. Counseling staff will be available to give you helpful information so you can start think ahead, and we'll be available for cozy conversations about these topics and more. Don't miss out on an opportunity to warm up for winter and enjoy some heartwarming hot chocolate (first 100 students). When you stop by, we'll also have some stamped postcards on hand if you want to say hi to someone on campus or back home - it's a great way to let someone know that you're thinking of them and that they're not alone. Come join us on December 4th - we're looking forward to seeing you there!
Warmly,
Counseling Services at SWS
