William Jackson, harp
Dabney Hall, Lounge
- Public Event
William Jackson has been at the forefront of Scottish music for well over twenty-five years. In 1976 he was a founding member of one of Scotland's top bands, Ossian. He has toured and recorded with Ossian extensively throughout Europe and North America since that time. Now performing as a solo, his main instrument is the Scottish harp, or clarsach. He also plays the wire strung harp, flute, whistle, uillean pipes, and piano. He is a fine composer of intriguing and soothing music. His reptation as a composer is growing and is beautifully displayed on his most recent album Duan Albanach, which combines traditional music with some of his own fine compositions. On stage, he entertains his audience as he joyfully shares personal anecdotes, stories, and old Celtic tales with a dry wit.
