Laughter breaks down our mental barriers and allows us to process information from a new perspective. Comedy can be an incredibly powerful tool to engage students and to make learning fun and memorable. We invite Caltech instructors to join comedian and educator Chris Duffy for a hands-on workshop designed to give you practical tools that you can use to incorporate comedy into your classes and presentations. Rather than focusing on canned jokes or corny routines, we'll focus on how reacting honestly to what's happening in the moment and acknowledging your audience's experience can forge a powerful and hilarious connection. No prior sense of humor is required, just an interest in making knowledge more accessible and fun.

About Chris: Chris is a standup comic and improviser who has performed at colleges and festivals throughout the country (including Harvard, MIT, Brown University, the Cambridge Science Festival, SF Sketchfest, and more). Chris is also the creator/host of You're the Expert, a new public radio show that uses comedy to make academic research more accessible and exciting.

RSVP by Tuesday, March 11: Comedy workshop RSVP.
