Art of Science Competition Now Open

Share the beauty of your work with others—all the imagery you created in the course of research or through the incorporation of scientific tools and ideas. Artistic entries should consist of one or several images or videos along with a caption to explain the context of the piece and give information on sizes of objects seen (for example, for microscope or telescope images). Otherwise, there are no restrictions on the type of submissions.

Entries for an online gallery and a public exhibition, taking place in May, will be selected by two judges from the Art Center and the UCLA Art/Science Center. There will be prizes for the best undergraduate and graduate student entries in the following amounts:

• First Place - $250
• Second Place - $150
• Third Place - $100

Entries to the competition can be submitted at http://www.artofscience.caltech.edu until 5 p.m. on April 30. Exhibitions from previous years' competitions are also available for viewing on the website.
