Caltech Electric Grid Modernization Update

Caltech Facilities department diligently addresses the needs of the campus's aging infrastructure with upgrades to building and utility assets. We aim to keep the campus community informed about our progress through regular updates and by providing advance notice to division and building management regarding possible interruptions and outages.

The Caltech Electrical Grid Modernization project is a multi-year effort that is focused on lowering the risk of extended outages by replacing major electrical distribution assets beyond the end of their useful service life as well as providing redundancy and flexibility in the grid.
