Kick-Off of the Hameetman Center Renovation on Wednesday, November 14, 2012

All members of the Caltech community are cordially invited to a short program celebrating the Kick-Off of the Hameetman Center Renovation on Wednesday, November 14, 2012.

The program will begin at 4 p.m. on the south side of Winnett Student Center (the future Hameetman Center) along the Olive Walk and include remarks from Caltech President Jean-Lou Chameau and Vice President for Student Affairs Anneila Sargent.  After the program, there will be light refreshments for all guests.

The Hameetman Center will create a shared gathering space where students and all members of the Caltech community can interact across residential and academic barriers, and build lasting friendships that enhance the Caltech experience and culture.  Among many upgrades being considered are the creation of an open, versatile lounge and common area on the ground floor; a new music rehearsal room and dance studio; an interior stair and elevator core to unify all three floors; and an enlarged outdoor patio with barbecues, heating lamps, and electrical outlets.
