Exhibition: "Qian Xue-sen: A Man of Science and an Inspiration to Scholars"

The Graduate Aerospace Laboratories of the California Institute of Technology (GALCIT) is hosting a small exhibit from the Qian Xue-sen Library and Museum to commemorate Dr. Qian Xue-sen from October 3 through October 9.
Dr. Qian, also known as Tsien Hsue-shen, was a 1939 Ph.D. alumnus (Aeronautics), a GALCIT faculty member, and a co-founder of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He was a protégé of Theodore von Kármán, and they worked closely on supersonic flight and rocket propulsion. Dr. Qian returned to China in 1955 and is widely recognized as the father of China's space and rocket program. The museum dedicated to his honor is at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU).
The exhibit is free, with no tickets or reservations required.
Public viewing hours are:
- Saturday and Sunday, October 3 and 4, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Monday, October 5 through Friday, October 9, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Members of the Caltech/JPL community are welcome to visit the exhibit each day beginning at 11:00 a.m.
