After the discovery of Higgs boson by the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN in 2012, a new era of studying the properties of this newly discovered particle has begun. Precision measurement of the Higgs boson properties is a test of the Standard Model of particle physics and is sensitive to new physics beyond the Standard Model. The High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC), which will increase the number of proton-proton collisions by a factor ten compared to the LHC, offers an unprecedented opportunity to study the Higgs boson properties in more depths. To meet the challenge of the high pileup and severe radiation environment of the HL-LHC, the ATLAS and CMS detectors are undergoing extensive Phase 2 Upgrade programs. In this seminar, I will discuss the new possibilities in Higgs boson physics enabled by the Phase 2 detector upgrades.
