Wintrob is president and chief executive officer of AIG Retirement Services Inc. (AIGRS) and also executive vice president of Retirement Services of American International Group Inc. (AIG). Operating in approximately 130 countries and jurisdictions, AIG is the world's leading international insurance and financial services organization and the largest underwriter of commercial and individual insurance in the United States. AIGRS specializes in retirement savings and investment products and services, including individual variable and fixed annuities, group retirement products, mutual funds, financial planning, and investment advisory services. Wintrob has served on the Board of Directors of AIGRS (formerly known as SunAmerica Inc.) since 1997. He served on the Board of Directors of AIG from 1999 to 2004 and was vice chairman of SunAmerica and the president of SunAmerica Investments prior to their acquisition by AIG.
Wintrob's other business interests include serving as a member of the California Business Roundtable. He is active as a board member of several nonprofit organizations, including Bet Tzedek Legal Services, the Broad Foundation, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the J. Paul Getty Trust, KCET Public Television, LA's BEST (Better Educated Students for Tomorrow), the Los Angeles World Affairs Council, Skirball Cultural Center, and Wilshire Boulevard Temple. In connection with his nonprofit activities, Wintrob has received the Ecumenical Council Leadership Award from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles (2001) and the Luis Lainer Founder's Award from Bet Tzedek Legal Services (2002).
Wintrob received a BA in political science from UC Berkeley in 1979 and a JD from the Boalt Hall School of Law at UC Berkeley in 1982. ###
